Hello there....

On June 30th 2006 Una & I both retired after a combined 74 years working in the Financial Services industry for a Canadian Bank. As a reward and in celebration, we have planned a trip to Europe. While this will not be our 1st trip to Europe it will be our longest as we plan to be away for over 5 weeks, visiting Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France and Scotland with the highlight being a week in a Villa in Tuscany where Brian's Sister and husband (Celia & Iain) and Brother and wife (Peter & Penny) will be joining us.

We leave from Toronto on September 11th....surely (we hope) the safest day on the calendar to fly...

Over the past several months we have spent hours on the internet as we researched hotels and B & Bs and planned our itinerary. For the most part we will be travelling by train using Eurail passes.

Our plan is to maintain an on-line diary as we travel to allow family at home to keep up to date on our progress and adventures.

With just under a month to go the anticipation is starting to build. Shortly we should be finalising the last leg...we have not booked any accommodation in the south of France yet...we will be going there after the Tuscany Villa and before we travel to Scotland from where we will be flying home to Canada.
